Inshore fishing is producing excellent catches of speckled trout along with red drum.


Fishing along the surf zone is producing really nice catches of speckled trout and some citation size red drum as well. Nearshore boats are reporting catches of king mackerel and false albacore when they can get offshore.


TOPSAIL ISLAND


Joe Johnston reports speckled trout fishing has been great and the specks are being caught from the inlets to the inland creeks. The best baits have been Mirrolure MR-17’s and Z-Man Jerk Shads. Slot size red drum are schooling up in the marshes and a few citation size reds are being caught in the surf.

SNEADS FERRY AND NEW RIVER


Captain Allen Jernigan reports inshore fishing continues to see excellent speckled trout fishing.


The specks are being caught on MR 17’s, Storm shrimp and a variety of Saltwater Assassin plastics. Some red drum are being caught while fishing for the specks. Source: Breadman Ventures.


EMERALD ISLE


Captain Bobby Bourquin reports fishing along the Crystal Coast continues to see a great


speckled trout bite along the surf zone. Strong winds and rough seas kept the offshore fleet tied up to the docks last week. Bluefin tuna season is set to open December 1 and there have been reports of seeing schools of them over the last couple of weeks.

Captain Bill Dillon reports weather conditions have kept boats at the dock a lot over the past week. Nearshore fishing has been producing king mackerel and false albacore when the boats can get offshore.
