Inshore fishing is producing catches of speckled trout and red drum.


Speckled trout are also being caught along the surf zone. The spot fishing continues to produce plenty of fish and best baits have been bloodworms and fresh shrimp.


False albacore are being caught along the beaches on Diamond jigs and small Stingsilvers. Nearshore fishing is producing catches of king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, bluefish and false albacore. Gulf Stream fishing is producing nice catches of wahoo along with blackfin tuna and sailfish.


TOPSAIL ISLAND


Joe Johnston reports speckled trout fishing continues to be good. The specks are being caught early in the day on topwater plugs and then switching over to Mirrodines and soft plastics later in the day.


Red drum are being caught around the docks and in the marshes. False albacore are


being caught nearshore on Diamond jigs and small Stingsilvers.

SNEADS FERRY AND NEW RIVER


Captain Allen Jernigan reports the speckled trout fishing just keeps getting better and better.


Some days of fishing are producing catches of 50 plus fish. The specks are being caught on topwater plugs and various soft plastics fished under Cajun Thunder popping corks. Some red drum are being caught while fishing for the specks.


The change of tides has been key to catching the fish.

EMERALD ISLE


Captain Bobby Bourquin reports a great week of fall fishing along the Crystal Coast. Fishing along the surf zone is producing catches of speckled trout.


Fishing at the nearshore rocks and artificial reefs is producing good catches of king mackerel and Spanish mackerel. Offshore bottom fishing is producing catches of grouper and black sea bass.


Gulf Stream fishing continues to see a strong wahoo bite along with catches of blackfin tuna and sailfish.

CRYSTAL COAST-SWANSBORO TO MOREHEAD CITY-INSHORE/NEARSHORE


Captain Chad Morgan reports inshore fishing has been awesome and is producing catches of speckled trout with limits of large fish being caught.


Best bait has been live shrimp. Spot fishing has been good with most fishing being caught on blood worms and fresh shrimp. Nearshore fishing is producing catches king mackerel, bluefish, false albacore and Spanish mackerel.
