The past week saw some great inshore fishing but once again offshore fishing was limited due to

the weather. Inshore fishing is producing nice catches of speckled trout and red drum. Gulf

Stream fishing is producing catches of wahoo, blackfin tuna, king mackerel and sailfish when the

boats are able to get offshore.

 

TOPSAIL ISLAND

Joe Johnston reports speckled trout are being caught in the creeks on Mirrolure MR17’s and

Saltwater Assassin Sea shad baits. Red drum are schooling up in the creeks and in the marshes

Captain Allen Jernigan reports inshore fishing is producing catches of speckled trout and red

drum. The specks are being caught on Some of the best baits have been Mirrolure MR 17’s,

Storm shrimp and a variety of both hard baits and soft baits. Red drum are being caught on gold

MOREHEAD CITY OFFSHORE AND NEARSHORE

Captain Bill Dillon reports Gulf Stream fishing is producing catches of wahoo, blackfin tuna and

sailfish. The Sea Wolf reported a catch of king mackerel, 36 blackfin tuna and one sailfish
