MEBANE — The Mebane Historical Museum will present "The Great Depression — What was Mebane like from 1929 to 1939?" at 7 p.m. Monday at 209 W. Jackson St.

Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

In 1933, there were 15 million unemployed and nearly half of the century's banks had failed. The event will feature memories, recollections and stories told and retold over the years along with selected photos from the museum's collection. It is recommended not only for those who lived through the Great Depression, but those who've only read about it as well.
