Alzheimer's benefit and handbell performance among those scheduled
1. Alzheimer’s benefit concert
A concert to benefit the New Bern Walk to End Alzheimer’s disease is scheduled from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the Isaac Taylor Gardens in New Bern.
The concert will feature the group Tone Peddlers. Admission is $5.

2. The Bears scheduled to perform
The Bears are scheduled to perform from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Attitudes Pub and Grill in River Bend.
The oldies band features Steve Latimer, Janet Montero, Pat Engeman and Simon Spalding, and plays a variety of classic rock, surf and British invasion music.
Attitudes Pub and Grill is located at 32 Shoreline Drive in River Bend.

3. Shackleford Banks horse trip
Cape Lookout National Seashore has scheduled a Horse Sense and Survival trip for Saturday.
The event provides those a chance to learn about the Shackleford Banks herd of wild horses from biologist Sue Stuska and to observe the horses in their natural habitat. Those attending should dress appropriately to walk in water, sand and mud, and be prepared for a day on the island with no facilities by bringing lunch or snacks as well as water.
The cost is $15 for adults and $8 for children ages 11 and under, which covers the cost of the ferry trip to the island. Reservations are required.

4. Edgerton to be part of benefit
An Evening for the Broad Street Clinic is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at the Carteret County Historical Museum, 1008 Arendell St., in Morehead City.
The event features Clyde Edgerton, an author, artist, musician and storyteller. Tickets are $50 per person.
The Broad Street Clinic provides access to medical care for uninsured or low-income residents of Carteret County.

5. Handbell concert scheduled
The Handbell Musicians Concert has been scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday at the New Bern Riverfront Convention Center in downtown New Bern.
The event will feature advanced English handbell musicians from across the country under the direction of Beth Watson.
