The search continued Wednesday for three suspects sought in connection to an armed robbery that occurred the night before in Carteret County.

Investigators with the Carteret County Sheriff’s Office said they are looking for Adrian “AJ” Johnson, 19, of Beaufort, a fourth suspect known by the nickname “Gutter” or “Gudda” and a recently named fifth suspect, Trevonne Myrick, 19 of Havelock.

The sheriff’s office has issued robbery and conspiracy warrants for Johnson and Myrick. The nicknamed suspect is wanted for questioning. They should be considered armed and dangerous.

A 2001 silver Hyundai Santa Fe sport utility vehicle stolen from the N.C. 101 area near the Carteret-Craven line that investigators believed the men may have been traveling in was found abandoned in Havelock.

The search continued Wednesday for two suspects sought in connection to an armed robbery that occurred the night before in Carteret County.

Investigators with the Carteret County Sheriff’s Office said Adrian “AJ” Johnson, 19, of Beaufort, and a fourth suspect known by the nickname Gutter may be in a 2001 silver Santa Fe sport utility vehicle that was stolen from the Highway 101 area near the Carteret-Craven line.

The sheriff’s office has issued warrants for Johnson for robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery. The fourth suspect is wanted for questioning.

Both should be considered armed and dangerous.

Two other suspects remained in custody at the Carteret County Jail Wednesday after their first appearance in court on charges stemming from the armed robbery that occurred Tuesday night at the Midway Mart on Harkers Island.

Brody George, 16, of Laurel Hill Drive in Havelock, and Kimberly Dawn McLaughlin, 30, of N.C. 24 in Newport, were arrested by the Carteret County Sheriff’s Office after fleeing the scene.

Deputies were called to the convenience store just before 7 p.m. when the clerk reported three black males robbed the store at gunpoint and fled the scene with more than $1,300 in cash, according to a CCSO news release.

Deputies located the suspects’ vehicle on Harkers Island Road near Straits Road and the driver failed stop. The suspects led deputies on a 15-mile chase on U.S. 70 through Otway and into the Town of Beaufort, where police deployed stop sticks at Campen Road in an attempt to stop the vehicle.

The vehicle was able to continue with two deflated tires through Beaufort and down Highway 101, where all of the suspects attempted to flee from law enforcement.

George and McLaughlin were apprehended and taken into custody near Hardesty Loop Road.

George was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. He was placed in the Carteret County Jail under a $100,000 bond.

McLaughlin was charged with accessory before the fact to a felony, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and accessory after the fact of robbery with a dangerous weapon. She was placed in the Carteret County Jail under a $125,000 bond

Deputies are seeking information on the whereabouts of Johnson and the fourth suspect known as Gutter.

The two men wanted in connection to a Tuesday night armed robbery may be traveling in a 2001 Silver Hyundai Santa Fe, NC registration plate DCP-2811, that was stolen from N.C. 101 near the Carteret / Craven county line, according to the Carteret County Sheriff's Office.

Carteret County deputies have arrested two people and are still looking for two others they say held up a Carteret County convenience store this week.

Investigators say three men robbed the Midway Mart convenience store on Island Road in Harkers Island at gunpoint at around 7 p.m. Tuesday. The three left with $1,300 in cash before being spotted in a vehicle by deputies on Straits Road. The suspects took off, leading deputies on 15-mile chase through Otway on U.S. 70 into Beaufort where Beaufort police deployed stop sticks that deflated two tires of the getaway vehicle. They continued down N.C. 101 where two got away and two were taken into custody near Hardesty Loop Road.

Brody George, 16, of Laurel Hill Drive, Havelock has been charged with one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Kimberly Dawn McLaughlin, 30, of N.C. 24, Newport, has been charged with accessory before the fact to a felony, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and accessory after the fact of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

George is currently being held in the Carteret County Jail under a $100,000 bond. His first appearance is scheduled for this morning. McLaughlin's bond was set at $125,000 and she is also scheduled in court today.
