On Aug. 19, a benefit barbecue lunch was held to help raise money to support the family of Terry Jones, an employee of Baldree's Tire in Havelock who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
On Aug. 19, a benefit barbecue lunch was held to help raise money to support the family of Terry Jones, an employee of Baldree’s Tire in Havelock who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
We would like to thank everyone who purchased a plate or dropped off a donation during the event.
We would also like to thank a number of businesses and individuals for assisting in helping organize the event. Those include Jeremy Cannon and Fat Fellas in Newport, Mary Eastman at TAGG, Michael Patterson at the Havelock Walmart, George Cook and the Havelock Chamber of Commerce, Peggy and the Mill Creek Volunteer Fire Department, volunteers from Cherry Point United Methodist Church in Havelock, volunteers from Annunciation Catholic Church in Havelock, volunteers from the Havelock-Cherry Point Rotary Club, all other community volunteers and Baldree’s Tire in Havelock.
If you would like to help Terry Jones and his family, donations are still being taken at Baldree’s Tire, off Catawba Road at the Westbrooke Shopping Center, in Havelock.
