The Wings over Wayne Air Show is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro.

Admission is free to the event that will feature a demonstration by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds on both days.



Aerial acts include the Black Daggers parachute demonstration team, the Tora! Tora! Tora! Pearl Harbor re-enactment, the combined arms demonstration of battlefield tactics, the P-51D Mustang, Matt Younkin’s Twin Beech 18, Jack Knutson’s Firebirds Extreme aircraft, Kevin Coleman in his Extra 300 SHP, Gene Soucy in his Grumman biplane, Bill Stein in his Zivko Edge 540, and the KC-135 Stratotanker.



A variety of static displays will also be part of the event. After the Thunderbirds fly on Saturday, country musician and singer Kellie Pickler is scheduled to perform in concert beginning at 5 p.m. A military working dog demonstration is scheduled during the event as well.



Gates open at 8 a.m. both days. Aerial performances are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. The Thunderbirds are scheduled to fly at 2:45 p.m., with autograph sessions to follow.



Those planning to attend should bring sunscreen and wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Folding chairs in a carrying case and baby strollers are permitted. Coolers and pets are not allowed.



The main parking area for the air show is at the Oak Forest Gate, which is on Oak Forest Road off U.S. 70. Secondary parking is available at the Berkeley Gate on Berkeley Boulevard off U.S.  70.
