Piney Grove AME Zion Church has scheduled its 150th anniversary beginning on Sunday.



A sesquicentennial morning worship service with the Rev. Robert Little Jr. is scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday with 3 p.m. worship service featuring Bishop W. Darin Moore and the N.C. Conference Choir.



Presiding Elder Lester Jacobs Jr. and the Washington District Choir are scheduled for the 7 p.m. service Monday, with Presiding Elder Erlinda C. Dobson and the New Bern District Choir scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday. Presiding Elder Joseph Walton and the Craven Corner Church Choir are scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, and Presiding Elder Avery C. Brown and the Beaufort District Choir is set for 7 p.m. May 21. The Rev. Joseph C. George and the Clinton Chapel Church Choir are scheduled for 7 p.m. May 22.



The celebration continues on May 23 with a 10 a.m. parade that starts at the Godette Center and ends at the church. A free picnic featuring food, drinks and games is set to begin at noon on the church grounds.
