Havelock High’s track athletes just missed out on medals at the 3A state track and field championships held Friday in Greensboro.


Havelock High’s track athletes just missed out on medals at the 3A state track and field championships held Friday in Greensboro.



Havelock’s top performance was turned in by junior Justin Wears. He finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 138 feet.



Kyran Bowman placed fifth in the high jump, clearing 6-feet, 2-inches just a week after winning regionals at Corinth Holders High School.



Senior Timo Togafu placed 14th in the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, seven inches.



For the Havelock girls, the 400-meter relay team of Aigne Taylor, Olivia Kinsey, Nydia Brown and Nyesha Patillo finished fifth with a time of 49.82 seconds.



Freshman Adrianna Hagel took seventh in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:27.54.
