The Eastern Carolina Aviation Heritage Foundation is accepting applications for its week-long summer camp at the Havelock Tourist and Event Center.

The camp is open to rising fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade students and is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to noon from July 13 to 18. The cost is $125 per student and includes a snack. The application deadline is Friday.

Called The Sky is the Limit, the camp is designed to give students a glimpse into various fields of engineering through creative building projects. Elementary school teachers will lead teams of students through the projects that relate to the fields of aviation and engineering.

The final day of the camp will be a demonstration of the projects for families of the students and members of the community.

Scholarships will be available for those with a demonstrated financial need, and the foundation is accepting donations from those who wish to sponsor a camper.

Applications are available online at www.ecaviationheritage.com. For more information or to sponsor a camper, call 444-4348 or email Amanda Ohlensehlen at aohlensehlen@havelocknc.us.
