The Havelock Board of Commissioners is expected to give its final approval to construction of a gas station in front of Walmart during its board meeting on Monday.

The Murphy gas station is expected to take up part of the western corner of the Walmart parking lot, and commissioners had previously approved of changes to the city’s parking lot regulations to clear the way for the station.

The city’s planning board approved the plan earlier this month. Construction is expected to start in June, if approved.

The board is also expected to get an update on water treatment plant improvements.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. today at Havelock City Hall.
