A Havelock residence sustained fire and smoke damage Thursday morning in a blaze of unknown origin.
The fire was reported at 8:53 a.m. at a trailer at 115 Branch Court, which is off Tilton Street in Jackson Mobile Home Park.
According to Havelock Police, no one was at home at the time of the fire.
Havelock Police Sgt. James Fahnestock was the first to arrive at the scene. Upon seeing smoke coming from a broken window, Fahnestock used a water hose from a neighbor’s residence to keep the fire under control until Havelock Fire and Rescue personnel arrived.
The fire was extinguished shortly after 9 a.m.
According to Fahnestock, the owner had left the residence about 30 minutes prior to the report of the fire.
No one was injured in the process of fighting the fire.

"There's a lot of smoke and heat damage throughout the entire trailer," said Havelock Fire and Rescue Chief Rick Zaccardelli.

Havelock Fire Marshall John Lewis was on the scene to conduct an investigation.
