The Havelock High baseball team is scheduled to wrap up its play in the Pitt County Easter Tournament against Southern Alamance at 6 p.m. Monday at South Central High School.

The Rams won their first two games in the tournament before Saturday’s game was rained out.

Havelock defeated East Wake 6-5 on Friday when Travis Sabdo’s bunt single scored Jesse Campbell in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Tanner Johnson was 2-for-2 with an RBI to lead the Rams at the plate, while Ryan Lewis was 1-for-2 with an RBI, and Cameron Carpenter was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Sabdo and Justice Provencher had Havelock’s other hits in the contest.

The Rams employed a pitch-by-committee approach to the contest, with Carpenter getting the victory by allowing one unearned run on one hit and striking out one in two innings. Drew Simcox allowed two earned runs on three hits while striking out four in 2 2/3 innings, while Matt Gray allowed a run on two hits while striking out one in 2 1/3 innings.

Havelock opened the tournament with a 2-1 victory over Northern Nash on Thursday.

Josh Little pitched a complete-game five-hitter, allowing a run while striking out six and walking six, to get the victory.
