Receiver Micheal Bowman had 86 yards receiving on five catches and a touchdown right before halftime that put the Rams ahead 27-0.

“I thought we played really good offensively and defensively,” Havelock coach Jim Bob Bryant said. “Our guys came to play from the first quarter through the end of the game tonight.”

The top-seeded and top-ranked Rams (14-0) won for the 28th straight time and have 13 consecutive playoff victories.

“It feels great to be making this postseason run in my senior year,” Scott said. “You always want to go out on top your senior year, and that’s what we’re trying to do.”

The Rams advanced to their fifth straight eastern regional championship game and are scheduled to host Eastern Wayne next week. The third-seeded Warriors (11-2) defeated Eastern Alamance 12-7 on Friday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

“We are going to have to keep playing good, sound defense and cut down on the penalties some,” Bryant said. “On all three phases of the ball, I think we are starting to peak at the right time.”
