The Havelock Rams will see a familiar opponent in the first round of the state soccer playoffs – Jacksonville.
Havelock (9-6-1), which has been decimated by injuries of late, will travel to Jacksonville in the first round at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Rams lost to Jacksonville 1-0 and 6-0 during the regular season.
“We both know what each other is going to do,” said Havelock coach Amy McCutcheon. “I guess it’s going to come down to who can hold on the longest. It’s more about us staying mentally in the game.”
Offensively, McCutcheon will be relying on Erica Quinn, Dominique Martinez, Taylor Self, Kaylee Larson, Jordan White and Kelsey Alexander.
The Rams will be without Natalie Johnson, Lauren Seegel and Emily Spink, who are out with injuries.
Defensively, they are led by Alexa Cruz, Janae Mays, Aliyah Cruz and Kaitlyn Tripp.
“Offensively, we are moving people around and seeing who works best together. Offense is where we are hurt more with injuries,” McCutcheon said.
