The Havelock High soccer team split its first two matches of the season, beating Northside 9-1 but falling to East Duplin 3-1.
In the victory against Northside, Noah Kemble scored four goals to lead the Rams, while Kevin Quinn added two goals and an assist. Miguel Diaz Maurino and Jason Hollister each added a goal and an assist, while Nick Seegel also hit the back of the net for Havelock. Justin Temple and Roy Howard added assists for Havelock.
Zach Martin had two saves, while Kevin Garay and Darren Miles each had one for Havelock, which outshot Northside 18-4.
In the loss to East Duplin, Seegel scored Havelock’s lone goal on an assist from Kemble. Martin and Temple had two saves each in goal.
The Rams are next scheduled to play at Wilmington Laney today before hosting Greenville Rose in its first home contest of the season on Tuesday, with the junior varsity beginning at 5 p.m. and the varsity to follow at 6:30 p.m.
