The Havelock High girls softball team picked up its third victory of the season with a 10-2 triumph over White Oak in a Coastal 3A Conference game Tuesday in Jacksonville.

The Rams (3-8, 3-5) failed to score in the first three innings but exploded in a big way in the middle innings. Havelock broke on top with a four-run fourth inning and continued with five runs in the fifth inning to lead 9-2 in a contest they never trailed. The Rams added a run in the sixth inning to complete the scoring.

Taylor Forehand got the victory on the mound for the Rams, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out seven in the contest.

Havelock totaled 17 hits in the contest, with Ashlyn Gosnell leading the way, going 4-for-4 with a double, RBI and three runs scored.

Havelock is next scheduled to play Swansboro at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Havelock High.
