The Havelock Rams won the Coastal 3A regular-season and tournament championships and advanced to the eastern regionals for the first time since the 1991-92 season.

Coach Bill Fryczynski, in his final season as boys basketball coach, was named the Coastal Conference Coach of the Year. Sophomore Kyran Bowman, and his nearly 25 points per game, was voted as the Player of the Year.

Havelock’s Micheal Bowman, Jordan Begley and Jordan Cuthbertson were picked for the first-team all-conference, while Keion Joyner, Julian Cuthbertson and Shondel Granison were honorable mention picks. As conference champs, the Rams (19-7) had the most (four) all-conference selections.

In girls basketball, Havelock had three players selected as all-conference selections, Natalie Johnson, Apriel Barrette and Jalisa Wilson. The Rams (15-10) finished second in the conference and ended the year losing to Union Pines in the second round of the playoffs.
