Havelock High football coach Jim Bob Bryant has been selected to be an assistant coach in the Semper Fidelis All-American game scheduled for Jan. 5 in Carson, Calif.

Bryant is scheduled to coach the running backs in the all-star contest that features some of the top high school football players in the country.

He’ll be coaching one very familiar face. Havelock running back Derrell Scott had received an invitation to play in the contest earlier this summer.

Bryant, entering his sixth season as Havelock’s head coach, has guided the Rams to back-to-back state 3A championships. He has a career coaching record of 105-32, including 63-11 at Havelock.

He is the first coach at Havelock to guide the Rams to four straight eastern regional championship games and his teams have won four straight Coastal 3A Conference championships.
