Havelock lacrosse team beats Northside

With the teams deadlocked at halftime, Havelock outscored Northside 7-3 in the second half to slip past the Monarchs 14-10 in a Conference 2 boys’ lacrosse match on Wednesday.

The teams were tied 7-7 at halftime, but the Rams (5-7, 4-3) outscored the Monarchs 5-0 in the third period to take control. Northside (5-6, 0-6) had a 3-2 advantage in the final period but it wasn’t enough.

Richard Fischer had five goals for Havelock, while Jason Hollister had four goals and four assists. Malik Brown added three goals and three assists, and Kendall Smith and Cullen Davidson each hit the back of the net once. Jacob Hamilton also had an assist.

James McFadden made eight saves for Havelock.

Havelock is next scheduled to play at First Flight at 6 p.m. on Friday before hosting Jacksonville at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Havelock Recreation Center.
