Concession stand cleanup set for Saturday

The Havelock Rams Booster Club held its first meeting for the upcoming school year on Monday, electing officers for 2013-14.

Michelle Lemmon was elected president of the 51-year-old organization, replacing outgoing president Debbie Garvey.

First vice president is Laura Wilder, while Mary Eastman is second vice president.

Kelly Webster was elected as treasurer for her seventh term, while Vonda Godette was elected to her third term as secretary.

Also during the meeting, Mitch Williams was introduced to club members as the school’s new athletics director. He mentioned two schedule changes to the members, with the junior varsity football team playing at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 22 at East Carteret and the varsity soccer match against Southwest Onslow on Aug. 29 being moved to Jacksonville.

The club has scheduled a clean-up day of the football field concession stand beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday. Club and non-club volunteers are being sought to participate.

The club has scheduled its next meeting for 7 p.m. Monday in the Havelock High library.
