Aron Rossi homered as part of an 10-hit attack as the Havelock High baseball team dominated Washington 13-3 in a Coastal 3A Conference contest Monday at Washington.
The Rams scored six runs in the first inning and added six more in the second to lead 12-2 and cruised to the victory in a game called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.
Rossi was 2-for-3 at the plate and scored three runs for the Rams. Ryan Lewis drove in a pair of runs with a double and also scored two runs, and Justice Provencher also had a double and two RBIs. Pharoh Cooper was 2-for-4 and drove in two runs.
Also for the Rams at the plate, Austin Coley, Josh Little and Chris Toler each went 1-for-3 with an RBI, and Cameron Carpenter also drove in a run. Randy Gibson had Havelock’s other hit.
Little pitched all five innings for Havelock, striking out nine and giving up two earned runs on five hits.
With the victory, the Rams improved to 9-11 overall and 4-6 in the Coastal 3A Conference as they battle for a playoff spot.
Havelock is next scheduled to play South Central at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Havelock High.
