Havelock girls place eighth in cross country regionals

The Havelock High girls cross country team placed eighth and the boys took 14th at the 3A East Regionals held Saturday at Northern Nash High School in Red Oak.

Lisa Furness led the Havelock girls by finishing 22nd in a time of 21 minutes, 32 seconds. Jess Moses-Gerdun (21:38) placed 27th and Elizabeth Guevara (22:46) finished 55th for the Rams.

For the Havelock boys, Jeremy Prichard (17:51) placed 17th, Roger Dodson (18:55) took 69th and John Ballarta (18:56) came in 72nd.

West Carteret won both the boys and girls races.
