The visiting Swansboro Pirates slowed the pace of the game down versus Havelock Wednesday night partly by design, yet partly by accident.

The Rams forced Swansboro into committing 23 turnovers and neither team shot well from the field in a 42-35 Havelock victory.

Each team saw only one player reach double-figure scoring as Apriel Barrette led the Rams with 10 points and Kylie Cleve posted 15 for the Pirates.

The difference, ultimately, may have been from the charity stripe.

Havelock shot 13-for-24 (54 percent) while Swansboro was 5-for-12 (42 percent).

The Rams also won the rebounding war with a slight 26-24 edge.
