The Havelock High baseball team continued its surge toward a possible playoff spot, edging Swansboro 3-2 in a Coastal 3A Conference game on Friday night at Havelock High.

With the victory, the Rams (10-9, 4-5) have now won six of their last seven games, including four straight conference contests.

Josh Little pitched a complete-game four-hitter, allowing just one earned run while striking out eight to get the victory on the mound.

Havelock struck for two runs in the third inning on Luke Magyar’s two-run double.

Swansboro answered in the top of the fourth with two runs of its own, tying the contest.

The Rams got the winning run on an RBI from Justice Provencher in the bottom of the fourth inning, and the rest was up to Little.

Ryan Lewis was 2-for-2 at the plate, while Tanner Johnson, Ryan Helms and Drew Simcox collected Havelock’s other hits on the night.
