Havelock boys to host playoff game Monday night

“We practiced (on Saturday) and I kind of knew we were going to play South Central,” Fryczynski said. “The only thing we can do at practice is try to stay sharp. We are going to play like we did the past couple times. Hopefully it will work for us again.”

The Rams lost to conference champ West Craven, 72-64, in the tournament final. Matt Prichard scored 15, while David Carter added 14, Zack Bruns 13 and Pharoh Cooper 11.

Meanwhile, the Havelock girls, the fourth-place team in the Coastal 3A Conference, might not see a team with a winning record until the third round, yet they still have to travel to start the postseason.

Havelock (15-11), the 13th seed, will travel to Hertford County (7-14) at 6 p.m. on Monday. If the Rams were to win, they would play either South Brunswick (4-19) or C.B. Aycock (12-13) on Wednesday.
