Anglers reported another week of pretty good fishing across area waters.

Inshore fishing is producing catches of red drum and speckled trout.

Surf fishing is producing catches of red drum.

Offshore bottom fishing is producing catches of black sea bass, beeliners and triggerfish. Gulf Stream fishing is producing catches of wahoo when the boats are able to get offshore.

 

TOPSAIL ISLAND

Joe Johnston reports red drum and speckled trout are being caught in the creeks and canals on Mirrodines and soft plastics.

SNEADS FERRY AND NEW RIVER

Captain Allen Jernigan reports the red drum bite is wide open.

The reds are being caught in shallow water on gold spoons and soft plastics. The flounder gigging has also been good and Capt. Allen and crew stabbed a two man limit of flounder this past Monday night.

EMERALD ISLE

Captain Bobby Bourquin reports fishing along the Crystal Coast has not changed much over the past week.

Red drum continue to be caught along the surf zone.

Offshore bottom fishing is producing catches of black sea bass, triggerfish and beeliners. Gulf Stream boats are reporting catches of wahoo when they can get offshore.

CRYSTAL COAST-SWANSBORO TO MOREHEAD CITY-INSHORE/NEARSHORE

Captain Jeff Cronk reports fishing along the Crystal Coast has been good over the past week.

Large schools of slot sized red drum are being found in the backwaters and they have been feeding with a vengeance. Most fish are running in the 20-27 inch range and are being caught on 4-inch Berkley Gulp Shrimp fished on 1/16 ounce jig heads.
