Northside rallies for 8-7 victory over Rams

The Havelock High girls lacrosse team let a late lead slip away in an 8-7 loss to Northside on Friday in Jacksonville.

The Rams (0-3) took a 6-3 lead but managed just one goal in the second half, as the Monarchs rallied with five goals to get the victory.

Alyssa Tompkins and Amber McCarthy scored three goals each for the Rams. Grace Look got Havelock’s other goal.

Paige Hamilton made 14 saves in goal for Havelock.

Kelsey McMinn had three goals to lead Northside.

The Rams are scheduled to play at D.H. Conley Wednesday. Havelock is next scheduled to play at First Flight on Friday night before hosting Greenville Rose on Wednesday.
