America is not great when it uses children as political pawns. The current policy of removing children from their parents who are trying to enter this country is immoral and cruel. It is child abuse. There will be long-term emotional effects on these children.

What do we gain by this?

This is the second time this administration has used children to try to achieve its political agenda. Previously, it changed the status of DACA children. These “dreamers” are an educated, employed part of our nation. Now they have no assurances about their future.

What do we gain by this?

Should we not be a nation of rational leaders and legislators who consider policy and laws that do not use the most vulnerable as bargaining chips? Our leaders should create policy that is well thought out and good for all.
