John P. Tomaio Jr., 60, of New Bern, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013.

He was the drummer for Carolina Casuals and enjoyed music, wine, cycling, swimming, running, photography and world travel. He retired from NADEP, Cherry Point, and was a former employee of NADEP, Pensacola, Fla. He served in the Navy from 1970 to 1974. He was a vibration analyst for several aircraft platforms and influential in the development in vibration analysis software and manuals.

Funeral was 10 a.m. Monday at Lakeside Chapel at Greenleaf Memorial Park, New Bern.

He is survived by his wife Dianne Tomaio of New Bern; one son, Jon Jeremmy Tomaio of Jersey City, N.J.; mother, Amy Tomaio of Pensacola, Fla.; and one sister, Patty Stillwell of Pensacola, Fla.

Arrangements are by Pollock-Best Funeral Home, New Bern.
