James Thomas Trice Jr., 63, of 1615 McKinley Ave., New Bern, died Monday, April 8, 2013.
He was a 1968 graduate of J.T. Barber High School, earned his Bachelor of Science degree from N.C. Central University and was a member of the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity. As a member of St. Peter’s AME Zion Church, he served on the Usher Board and the Social Action Committee. He retired from Cherry Point where he was employed as a management analyst.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter’s AME Zion Church with the Rev. Robert Kelley officiating.
Burial will follow in New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Zeda Trice of the home; one son, James T. Trice III of Alexandria, Va.; one daughter, Xavier Trice of Raleigh; one brother, Craig A. Trice of Edgewood, Md.; three sisters, Henalmol T. Hickman of Havelock, Janice M. Trice of New Bern, and Vonda S. Trice of Durham.
Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday Oscar’s Mortuary, New Bern.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
