Jack H. Taylor Sr., 77, of Vanceboro, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern.
He spent his entire life in the Vanceboro community. He earned all-East honors in football in high school and was an avid sports fan and enjoyed quail hunting. He served in the Air Force was employed in civil service at Cherry Point. He retired and became a tobacco grader for the Department of Agriculture. He was a Mason in the lodges of Vanceboro and New Bern.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Celestial Memorial Gardens in Vanceboro.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Taylor; two sons, Jack Taylor Jr. and Jeff Taylor; two sisters, Gearldine Haddock and Dottie Buck; one brother, Claudie Taylor; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends following the service.
