Eula Vernell Edwards Lacy, 78, of 203 N. Nunn St., Havelock, died Friday, May 10, 2013, at CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern.

She was a native of Pamplin, Va., and was a graduate of Robert Moton High School. Her membership at Word of God Christian Center included serving on the Mother Board and the Food Collection Program.
Her funeral will be 2 p.m., Wednesday at Clinton Chapel AME Zion Church.

Burial will follow at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Horace W. Lacy of the home; two sons, Rayner Edwards of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Kenneth F. Lacy of Havelock; three daughters, Evelyn Crewes of South Boston, Va., and Angela Carter and Carmen Lacy of Havelock; three brothers, Toney Edwards of Fayetteville, Cleve Edwards of New Jersey, and Alvin Gregory Edwards of New Bern; four sisters, Rosetta Brown of Long Island, N.Y., Frangella Candies of New Jersey, and Linda Edmunds and Florence Edwards of Pamplin, Va; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends at the residence.

Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Oscar’s Mortuary, New Bern, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
