Elisha "Man" Morris Jr.

Elisha “Man” Morris Jr., 80, of Havelock, died Friday, July 18 at CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern.

A native of Havelock, he was employed as a commercial fisherman, with Atlantic Veneer Company and at Croatan National Forest.

Funeral will be Thursday, July 24 at 1 p.m. at Piney Grove AME Zion Church. Burial will follow in the Morris Family Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Velma Morris of the home, four sons, George Morris, of Orlando, Fla., Bornia Morris, of Raleigh, Derrick Morris, of Havelock and Elisha Morris III of Disputana, Va., one daughter, Janet Morris, of Raleigh, two brothers, Wallace Morris and Linston Morris, both of Havelock, three sisters, Alverta Morris, Ludie M. Godette and Georgia Lee Johnson, all of Havelock, 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the residence. Viewing will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary and one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are by Oscar’s Mortuary, Inc.
