HAVELOCK — Daniel C. Schreck was born April 14, 1938 and passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 2, 2017.

He is survived by his dear sister, Audrey McCormick, 5 children, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and his very special friend, Kim.

He was a recognizable face in Havelock for many years beginning as a U. S. Marine stationed at Cherry Point. He was known for running Havelock Gant Gas Station, working as an aircraft mechanic at Cherry Point, ran a cleaning service, “Dan Can Do It,” and also ran Havelock Sign Shop with his daughter Kathy.

He loved to fish and was a successful Tournament Bass Fisherman contestant ... and did I mention he loved to fish?

Dan was also a familiar friendly face at Ziggy’s Cafe. He was a good and faithful friend to many in the Havelock community, best known for his miscellaneous acts of kindness. He was loved and appreciated by all his friends and family. You will be missed Dan!

Celebration of life will be held at Ziggy’s Cafe in Havelock on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
