ATLANTIC BEACH – Justin Edward Bacon, 44, born in Arlington, TX, passed away at Duke University Hospital on May 8, 2017.

He was raised in Havelock and was a 1991 graduate of Havelock High School. He loved RAMS Soccer for which he played for four years from 1988 to 1992 and was named an All-Conference player his senior year. Like his Dad, Justin served in the United States Marine Corps, graduating in 1993 as a 3-year Reservist. In 1996, Justin graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor Degree in Business. He went on to work in the software business and became a loan officer for Prime Lending Bank in Dallas, Texas.

Justin’s love of North Carolina brought him back home in later years. He graduated from the Chapman School of Seamanship because he loved the water and the beach. Justin loved his family, friends, soccer, rugby, sports, and the Dallas Cowboys and ECU Pirates.

Justin leaves behind his parents, Captain Edward F. Bacon III (USMC Ret) and Jackie Hiles Bacon and his sister and best friend Amy Bacon St. Clair (Jason), his adored nephew and niece, Trevor and Marilyn St. Clair. His Uncles Larry Bacon of Grand Lake, Colorado, and Martin and Aunt Debbie Hiles of Clearwater, FL. Precious to him were his cousins and friends.

Justin will be missed but we will all remember his laugh, his smile, and his love of the beach.

A private Family Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date.

Because of Justin’s love of the beach and sea turtles, memorials in Justin’s memory may be made to the N.C. Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores, 1 Roosevelt Blvd., Pine Knoll Shores, NC, 28512. Please include Justin Bacon/Sea Turtles.
