James “Little Boy” Hodge, 79, of 1003 Timberlake Trail, Jacksonville, died on Monday, March 13, 2017 at his residence.

He was a graduate of W.S. King High School and was previously employed with Conner Mobile Homes, A&P Grocery Store and Lowes Foods. He retired from the Marine Corps Exchange Service Station at Cherry Point.

Service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 208 N. 13th St., Morehead City, with the Rev. Lawrence B. Kelsey officiating. Interment will follow at the Hodge Family Cemetery, Hodge Road, Craven Corner Community, Havelock.

He is survived by three three sons, James E. Gibbs of Leesburg, Va., Adrian A. Hodge of the home, and Gerry W. Hodge of Raleigh; one brother, Robert Lee Hodge of Upper Marlboro, Md.; three sisters, Lillian H. Stanley of Beaufort, and Henrietta H. Monroe and Ophelia H. Chambers of Morehead City; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Morgan Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Williamsburg Parkway, Jacksonville.
