Elsie Lamm Mayo, 95, died Sunday, August 28, 2016, at home.

She graduated from New Bern High School and worked at Cherry Point as a supervisor in the Supply Department. She helped to open the first Cherry Point Federal Credit Union and later became manager of the Havelock and New Bern branches, completing her 33 year career. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church for 70 years, serving as treasurer of the Polly Russell Circle for 35 years. She was a charter member of the Havelock Eastern Star and member of the New Bern Women’s Club.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Centenary United Methodist Church. Reception and visitation will follow in the fellowship hall. Graveside service will follow at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.

She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Mayo Sneeden; one sister, Kathleen Lamm Bryan of Virginia Beach, Va.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
