Man injured in rear end collision on U.S. 70

An unidentified man was taken to Craven Regional Medical Center on Monday afternoon after colliding with the rear end of a truck.

The wreck happened on U.S. 70 about 12:45 p.m. when the driver's blue Honda Civic struck the rear of a truck near the McDonald Downs subdivision west of Slocum Road.

Havelock Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the crash, along with the N.C. Highway Patrol and Havelock Police.

It was raining at the time of the crash, which occurred in the eastbound lane of the highway. Police are investigating.

The condition of the man was not known, but his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.There were no other injuries.
