Four people were injured in a two-car crash Wednesday in Havelock.

The crash happened around noon at U.S. 70 and the entrance to the MacDonald Downs subdivision in the western part of Havelock.

The four people injured were transported to CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern. Their conditions were not immediately available.

According to initial reports, a driver in a four-door Dodge Intrepid was attempting to make a left turn from U.S. 70 East into the subdivision and pulled into the path of a four-door Suzuki Aerio that was heading west on U.S. 70. The Suzuki hit the Intrepid broadside in the passenger-side door. Both vehicles sustained significant damage.

Three of the people injured were in the Suzuki, while the driver was the lone person in the Intrepid.

The Havelock Police Department is investigating, but details were not immediately available.
