Power has been restored to homes and buildings at Cherry Point after some early morning thunderstorms caused outages on the base.
Lightning caused the damage, according to a release from Cherry Point, and crews worked throughout the morning to restore power.
Cherry Point officials had been making arrangements to open a shelter should the outages last longer than expected, but that never happened.
Some traffic signals were out on base, but the mess hall remained open.
Should anyone in a base building not have power, contact the Facilities Maintenance Department Service Desk at 466-4363 or 466-4364 to report the problem.
Residents whose homes are still without power can contact AMCC at 877-509-2424.
