U.S. Rep. Walter B. Jones is scheduled to make a pair of stops in Havelock on Monday.
Jones, the third district Republican, is scheduled to speak during the Havelock Chamber of Commerce Federal Update Luncheon beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Havelock Tourist and Event Center.
Jones is expected to provide an update on issues in Washington and their impacts on the Havelock area, including updates on defense issues, budget cuts and Base Realignment and Closure that could impact Cherry Point and the Fleet Readiness Center East aircraft repair and maintenance facility.
Col. Blayne H. Spratlin, commanding officer of FRC East, is also scheduled to speak during the luncheon.
The cost for lunch is $15 and preregistration is recommended.

After the chamber luncheon, Jones is scheduled to speak beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the Havelock Senior Center.
Jones is scheduled to specifically address issues and concerns of seniors during his presentation and answer questions.
There is no charge to attend the presentation at the senior center.
