Two die in crash at Ferry Road and N.C. 101

Two New Bern residents died Wednesday evening in a wreck at the intersection of N.C. 101 and N.C. 306 east of Havelock.

According to Sgt. Kevin Rock, of the N.C. Highway Patrol, the wreck happened just before 6:45 p.m.

Rock said a 2000 Mazda was attempting to make a left turn off of N.C. 306, also known as Ferry Road, when it was struck in the left driver side by a 1998 Dodge work truck.

The driver of the Mazda, Jun Thang, 21, of New Bern, died as a result of the collision along with a passenger in the vehicle identified as Klass Dohn, a woman approximately age 50 from New Bern.

Four other passengers in the Mazda were injured and transported to CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern. They were identified as Lian Mang, Shi Lay, Sun Aye and Dah Ke, all males.

The driver of the truck, identified as Michael Biggs, 49, of Raleigh, was not injured. A passenger in Biggs' truck, Douglas Harper, 53, of Creedmore, was also not injured.

Two of the victims were taken by EastCare air ambulance to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. One of them, Dah Ke, was reported to be six years old.
