A 16-year-old Havelock High School student has been charged with bringing a weapon onto school property.

Michael Bishop Rasberry, of 100 Ferry Road, Apartment A, was arrested Friday by Havelock Police, according to Chief G. Wayne Cyrus.

Cyrus said Rasberry was found to be in possession of a knife.

“I know there was some drug paraphernalia found along with the knife,” Cyrus said. “Nobody was hurt and no danger was presented.”

In addition to being charged with possessing weapons on educational property, a misdemeanor, Rasberry is also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cyrus said he could not go into to detail about the incident because the report being filed by arresting Officer Bradley Elam was not complete.

Rasberry is due in court on Oct. 3 in Craven County District Court.
