Investigators arrested a second Newport man they say was connected to drug deals from a Newport home.
David Charles McCarty, 23, was arrested and charged April 18 by the Carteret County Sheriff’s Office with one count each of possession with intent to sell or deliver Schedule II Percocet, selling and delivering Schedule II Percocet, selling and delivering marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.
McCarty’s arrest comes more than two weeks after another Newport man was also accused of dealing drugs. Investigators say multiple drug purchases made at a home on Forest Line Drive in Newport also led to the arrest of Robert Nathaniel Treasure.
Detectives arrested Treasure, 20, after a search warrant was served on the home on April 2, according to the release. Treasure was charged with one count each of possessing drug paraphernalia and maintaining a dwelling to store or sell a controlled substance.
McCarty’s bond was set at $10,000, while Treasure’s bond was set at $7,500.
