Representatives from the N.C. Department of Transportation are scheduled to attend a meeting to present plans for proposed changes to the U.S. 70-Carolina Pines Boulevard intersection.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Township Six Volunteer Fire Department station on Carolina Pines Boulevard. DOT district engineer Dwayne Alligood is scheduled to attend, present plans for proposed changes to the intersection and answer questions.
DOT has cited crash statistics as a reason to redesign the three crossings of U.S. 70 in the Carolina Pines area. The design plans call for the elimination of left-hand turns from the main intersection at Carolina Pines Boulevard and U.S. 70.
The meeting is expected to last until 7 p.m.
