Authorities say the reported road rage incident began on U.S. 70 in the James City area of Craven County and ended in the Newport area of Carteret County.

Authorities said the Turners followed the alleged victims — identified by media outlets as William Berry and Nathan Brotzman — and pulled into a driveway behind them when they got to Newport.

Turner is accused of firing several gunshots during an altercation that followed.

The Carteret County Sheriff’s Office released still images and a video clip of the incident on Monday and asked for the public’s help in identifying the suspects, who had left the scene. It was reported that the suspects had a toddler in the car with them.

The charges against the Turners were filed later that afternoon.

The incident remains under investigation, and Thomas will review the final report before making any decisions on any further charges.

While such cases can be difficult, Thomas said the video of this incident makes it different.
