Generally, those living south and east of Miller and Fontana boulevards vote at the East Havelock Precinct while those north and west of those roads vote in the West Havelock Precinct.

Only those registered to vote can vote on Election Day on Tuesday. However, those who are not registered to vote can register and vote at the same time during the early voting period. Early voting continues from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Friday and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Craven County Administration Building at 406 Craven St., in downtown New Bern.

The East Havelock Precinct has 5,003 registered voters, while West Havelock has 4,972. In the last Havelock municipal election in 2011, which involved three commissioner seats and did not include a race for mayor, 644 residents voted out of 8,786 registered voters for a voter turnout of 7.3 percent.
