Havelock police seek suspect in car break-ins

Havelock police are looking for a local man in connection with several car break-ins and larcenies.

Marco Antonio Portalatin, 20, of Cherry Branch, is wanted for a series of vehicle break-ins that happened July 1 and 2, according to the Havelock Police Department.

Investigators have obtained warrants charging Portalatin with six counts of felony breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, five counts of misdemeanor larceny, one count of injury to personal property, one count of felony conspiracy and one count of felony accessory after the fact.

Portalatin had accomplices in the break-ins but they remain unknown, according to a release from police.

The break-ins happened in the area of Christopher Court, Verona Drive, Legacy Lane, Kim Avenue and John Court. Wallets, electronic devices and change money were taken from the vehicles, according to the release. There may have been other break-ins that have not been reported and police are encouraging residents to report those incidents.
